Message from the Athletic Director
Welcome to the Skyline College Athletic Program. Since 1969, Skyline College has beenproviding a solid education for our students both in the classroom and on the playing fields / courts. Our teams have won over 50 conference, regional and state championships. Our alumni have achieved success at the collegiate, Olympic, national and professional level after finishing their career at Skyline College. We are committed to creating opportunities for students to learn in an environment that will prepare them for the future. This commitment is evidenced both in our talented and dedicated coaching faculty and our upgraded and newly-constructed athletic facilities. We are proud of the academic success rate that Skyline student-athletes have achieved while participating in intercollegiate athletics. Many of our students complete their requirements to continue their athletic and academic endeavors at four-year institutions. An example of this is Kelly Huey who was named the 2012 California Community College Female Scholar Athlete and transferred to Concordia University on an athletic scholarship. We are here to help our students realize their goals and prepare them for their future.

Gymnasium and Indoor Athletic Complex
The Skyline College Gymnasium and Indoor Athletic Complex was completely renovated in 2006. The gymnasium seats a capacity of slightly less than 1000 patrons and includes a state-of-the-art hardwood floor, new glass backboards, a scoreboard with player statistics, a modern sound and video projection system, new volleyball standards / nets, power-operated bleachers, and much more. Inside the athletic complex are team rooms, a video room, a wrestling room and a strength / conditioning center. We believe our complex is one of the finest community college facilities in Northern California serving instruction, competitive and community needs.
Skyline is proud to host numerous events in the renovated complex. We host approximately fifty intercollegiate badminton, volleyball, basketball and wrestling championships, tournaments, matches and games in our venue each year. In addition, we host an annual 32-team high school men’s basketball tournament and Junior College Showcase each summer. The showcase is the premier NCAA Division-I sanctioned Junior College event in Northern California. Each year coaches from all over the country come to Skyline to check out the best male JC players in California.
Skyline College’s athletic fields are unquestionably among the finest in Northern California. We have two FIFA standard soccer playing fields, a baseball stadium and outdoor track. All surfaces have been or will be renovated over the past three years. Special features of the renovation include a state-of-the-art baseball press box, modern synthetic turf fields, improved accessibility, sustainable landscaping and renovated seating. The baseball stadium has bench and stadium back seating for visitors. These venues have been the site for approximately 50 baseball and soccer intercollegiate competitions a year in addition to hosting numerous high school, youth and adult games, matches and tournaments.
Perspective student athletes from outside the Skyline College recruitment area must make first contact with the Skyline College Athletic Department. The contact can be by letter, e-mail, phone, or personal visit.
Intercollegiate Athletics at Skyline College is considered a transfer program. As such student-athletes who plan on transfer prior to receiving an Associate degree should meet with their coach and counselor / advisor and verify eligibility status...
