(5) OUTREACH:

Hire/Appoint outreach coordinator/team and increase services/connections to local high schools to facilitate transition and success of basic skills students, examine Middle College concept, create diverse outreach team with wide student appeal to: attend outreach events, parent nights, visit individual classes, provide informational workshops on a bi-monthly basis to feeder high schools, provide other consistent on-going connections with local high schools beyond one-time presentations, expand Hermano’s Program, and also visit non-high school locales (i.e. malls, churches, junior high schools), provide practice placement test preparation, guide students in future careers in connection with Skyline, provide DSPS testing, give learning skills assessments, provide information on financial aid, concurrent enrollment, vocational program.  Explore concept of having dedicated counselors for each local high school.
