Raymond A. Buenaventura
Ray Buenaventura is a Councilman for the City of Daly City. He was appointed in April 2011 to fill a vacant seat due to a resignation. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Buenaventura was a Commissioner on the Library Board of Trustees for Daly City. Mr. Buenaventura is an Attorney licensed to practice law in California and Washington D.C. He is a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law and currently serves as a Commissioner on the California State Bar Advisory Commission on Criminal Law. In addition, Mr. Buenaventura is Professor at Lincoln Law School in San Jose where he teaches Election Law and Evidence. Mr. Buenaventura is an Officer (Treasurer) with the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC) and also serves as Chair of the San Mateo County Bar Association's Committee on the Diversity Speaker's Forum. Mr. Buenaventura also serves on several non-profit boards including the Pilipino Bayanihan Resource Center (Vice President), Knights of Columbus Foundation for Developmentally Disabled Children (Vice President), Daly City-Quezon City Sister City Committee, and Pinoy/Pinay Educational Partnerships.
