Michon Coleman
Michon Coleman is the Deputy Director of Government Affairs for the San Mateo County Association of Realtors, where she works with local, state and federal legislators on land use issues and the protection of private property rights. She is also Chair of the California Association of Realtors Government Affairs Directors Committee. Her previous experience includes working for U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Lee, focusing on the HIV/AIDS pandemic, economic development and the environment.
Michon has also worked in the legal and public policy arena. Michon earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she served as President of the Black Law Students Association. In 2004, Michon joined John Kerry's campaign in Pennsylvania as a member of the Voter Protection Team and provided on-site assistance to voters regarding voting rights and election laws. Currently, she volunteers as a Policy Advisor on a State Assembly campaign.
Michon serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for AIDS Project East Bay and as a Board member of the Center for the Early Intervention on Deafness. She also works closely with local agencies dedicated to empowering women through self entrepreneurship.
