Education received at Skyline College provides a quality stepping-stone for continued education. Important parts of lower-division education at Skyline College are:
General Education
SMT offers a wide range of general educational opportunities. Courses numbered 100-199 are specifically designed to provide students with information applicable to understanding and dealing with the events and responsibilities of daily life.
Transfer
SMT provides lower-division transfer programs which prepare students for continued education in four-year colleges and universities. Courses numbered 200-299 are carefully designed for majors transferring to four-year schools. Course transferability is coordinated in articulation agreements between Skyline College and four-year institutions.
Career Technical Programs
SMT offers technical/vocational training programs for students whose goal is to fulfill education requirements to enter new job markets.Courses numbered 400-499 are technical courses that fulfill requirements for vocational and career programs. Many of these classes are transferrable to CSU. Special purpose
Courses numbered 300-399 are special purpose courses designed to meet a demonstrated community need.
