North Peninsula Branch $500 Women's Honor Award

American Association of University Women North Peninsula Branch Our mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. 

The North Peninsula Branch is offering an honor award of $500.00 to a woman who is either a re-entry student or a member of the Women In Transition program and is currently enrolled at Skyline College in San Bruno, California.

The North Peninsula Branch is offering an honor award of  $500.00 to a woman who is either a re-entry student or a member of the Women In Transition program and is currently enrolled at Skyline College in San Bruno, California.
       
 Requirements:

·      The recipient must be a resident of the North Peninsula* area of San Mateo County.
·      The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
·      She must have completed 12 units at Skyline College.
·      Preference may be given to a candidate who plans to attend a four-year college.
·      Financial need will be taken into consideration.


Applicants must submit the following to the AAUW North Peninsula Branch no later than May 3, 2014.

1.     A completed Application Form
2.     A personal statement of no more than 2 pages that includes:   
·      Why you are attending college.
·      What you see as your current challenges.
·      Your personal and career goals and how this scholarship will assist you in achieving those goals.
3.     An unofficial Transcript of your current college work.
4.     Two letters of recommendation.
5.     Statement of monthly income and source.
6.     Any other sources of financial aid.

* The North Peninsula Branch serves: Brisbane, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, Millbrae, San Bruno & South San Francisco
