Participation in varsity sports is limited to those who possess the necessary skill to compete in intercollegiate athletics. Competition takes place in the Coast Conference and other northern and southern California community colleges. Athletes must be actively and continuously enrolled in 12 units during their semester of participation (9 of which must count toward degree completion, remediation, transfer and / or certification). Student-athletes must maintain a 2.0 grade point average from first participation, passed a cumulative 24 units (18 of which must count toward degree completion, remediation, transfer and / or certification) and have a Student Education Plan (SEP) on file to qualify for their second season in the same sport. A Student-athlete can compete a maximum of two years in any sponsored sport. Participants must pass a physical examination prior to being released to compete. VARS 100 (C) MEN’S VARSITY BASEBALL (3)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate varsity baseball competition in the Coast Conference tournaments and with other community colleges in the area. (Open entry). May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU (E2).

VARS 110 (M) MEN’S VARSITY BASKETBALL (1)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate varsity basketball competition in the Coast Conference and participation in regional tournaments. (Open entry.). May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU (E2).

VARS 150 (M) MEN’S VARSITY SOCCER (2)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate soccer competition with Northern California community colleges and State Universities. (Open entry.) May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU (E2).

VARS 200 (C) VARSITY WRESTLING (2)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate competition in dual matches in the Coast Conference; competition in several regional wrestling tournaments each year including Coast Conference matches, Northern California matches, and the State Championships. (Open entry.) May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU (E2).

VARS 300 (W) WOMEN’S VARSITY BASKETBALL (1)
Ten hours per week. Prerequisite: TEAM 111 or competitive experience, or equivalent.
Intercollegiate women’s Varsity Basketball competition in the Coast Conference and participation in regional and State tournaments. (Open entry.) May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: CSU.

VARS 340 (W) WOMEN’S VARSITY VOLLEYBALL (2)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate Varsity Volleyball for women includes competition with the other community colleges from the Northern California area. (Open entry.) May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU (E2).

VARS 350 (W) WOMEN’S VARSITY BADMINTON (2)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate Varsity Badminton competition with Northern California community colleges. Participation in the Coast Conference and regional tournaments. (Open entry.) May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU.

VARS 360 (W) WOMEN’S VARSITY SOCCER (2)
Ten hours per week.
Intercollegiate Varsity Soccer competition with Northern California community colleges. Participation in the Coast Conference and regional tournaments. (Open entry.) May be repeated for credit a maximum of three times. Transfer credit: UC; CSU (E2).
