The Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development works closely with high schools in San Mateo County to align, partner and advance career education opportunities and connections for students while building seamless transitions to college. Dual enrollment, educator networks and annual student experiences are just a few of the strategic efforts in place.

College and Career Connections

The Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development annually hosts The Ultimate College and Career Connection and CTE Day. The purpose of these events is for students to gain relevant career skills, network and to discover career pathway options available after they graduate high school. The “College and Career Connection” Event brings a highly engaging keynote speaker, employer/student panel discussion experience, mock interview training sessions, and a career education simulation experience for students. Engaging panel sessions highlight the Skyline College Promise Scholars program and speakers from a variety of industries such as Cisco Systems, SAP Corporation, California Pacific Medical Center, Genentech, Marriott, iQ360 Inc, and KRNV just to name a few. Additionally, students engage in hands-on activities through simulations that highlight career focused programs at Skyline College
