San Mateo County Community College Di­strict Wins $1.5 Million Grant To Support College Promise Programs  
San Mateo, California – February 28, 2017: The San Mateo County Community College District has been awarded a one-time, $1.5 million grant to support College Promise programs across all three colleges. The District was one of 14 selected by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office to participate in the California College Promise Innovation Grant Program after a competitive application process.

San Bruno, California – February 24, 2017: Skyline College is preparing to launch an innovative program that has been proven to help students graduate at higher rates and more quickly than most community college students. The Accelerated Studies in Associate Program (aptly referred to as ASAP) will launch in fall 2018 with 500 full-time Skyline College students. ASAP consists of financial support, intensive academic advising, expedited course scheduling and other advantages for students. 

Equity Summit at Skyline College to be Held on December 9, 2016  
San Bruno, California – November 23, 2016: 
Skyline College announced today it will host a first of its kind Equity Summit on Friday, December 9, 2106 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. offering an opportunity for educators from throughout the region to engage in a teaching and learning experience center on educational equity. Dr. Angela Davis, activist, educator and scholar in social justice will deliver the keynote address.

Registration at Skyline College is now open for the spring 2017 semester. Tuition is just $46.00 per unit and financial aid is available for students who qualify. San Mateo County Community College District to Host Campus Safety Forums  
San Mateo, California – September 6, 2016: 
Students, faculty, staff, neighbors and other community members are invited to attend a series of campus safety forums being held in the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) Tuesday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 as part of the Public Safety Services Study that began earlier this year.

Educational Excellence Summit for African Americans Hosted by the 2016 White House Initiative to be Held at Skyline College

Skyline College will host the 2016 White House Initiative’s Summit on Educational Excellence for African Americans on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will provide a platform for experts and black students to discuss the accomplishments they have made in higher education and the support that is needed to succeed both in school and in life.

Skyline College Awarded Two-Year Grant to Provide Free Shuttle Service for Students  
San Bruno, California – May 27, 2016: 
Skyline College was awarded a two-year grant to establish free non-stop, round trip shuttle service between the Daly City BART station and the campus, thanks to the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) and the City and County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG).

De-Stress for Success: Therapy Dog Event Today  
San Bruno, California – May 20, 2016: 
The Skyline College Library is hosting a Therapy Dog event in partnership with the Peninsula Humane Society and the Associated Students of Skyline College today at 11:00 a.m. in the college quad. Numerous research studies indicate that pet interaction has significant health benefits including the release of endorphins that have a calming effect and lowering anxiety.

Skyline College Hosts 46th Annual Commencement Ceremony  
San Bruno, California – May 19, 2016: 
A record total of 360 students will participate in the commencement ceremony, the largest commencement ceremony in Skyline College history. A total of 1,355 degrees and certificates will be awarded to 1,153 students.

15th Annual Student Recognition and Award Ceremony at Skyline College  
San Bruno, California – May 2, 2016: 
The 15th Annual Student Recognition and Award Ceremony will award scholarships to 217 Skyline College students on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Theater, located in Building 1. Skyline College students will be presented with over 293 awards totaling more than $226,000 in scholarship funds.

Base 11 Launches Innovation Center and New Course at Skyline College  
San Bruno, California – April 6, 2016: 
The nonprofit Base 11 and Skyline College launch a partnership that brings students the tools – and the training – to become the next great science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) entrepreneurs. The Base 11 Innovation Center features a fabrication laboratory – the first on a California community college campus.

The event will offer opportunities for veterans and their family members to connect with campus and community resources.

16th Annual Skyline College President's Breakfast  
San Bruno, California – February 24, 2016: The 16th Annual Skyline College President’s Breakfast will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at the South San Francisco Conference Center located at 255 South Airport Boulevard in South San Francisco. The breakfast is hosted by Skyline College President Regina Stanback Stroud, Ed.D. and the Skyline College President’s Council. This free event brings the community together for networking, a delicious breakfast, and presentations showcasing the innovative projects supported by the President’s Innovation Fund (PIF) and the students they benefit. Attendees will be given the opportunity to donate to the President’s Innovation Fund to support current and future projects benefiting students.

Through My Fathers Eyes: The Filipino American Photographs of Ricardo Ocreto Alvarado Exhibition On Display  
San Bruno, California – November 11, 2015: The Skyline College Art Gallery, in partnership with The Alvarado Project, presents Through My Father’s Eyes, an exhibition of photographs documenting Filipino American life in San Francisco during the 1940’s and 1950s. The exhibition is now open at the Skyline College Art Gallery in San Bruno, California. It will be on view through December 11, 2015.

Meet Oliver Wang, Author of Legions of Boom  
San Bruno, California – October 8, 2015: The Center for Innovative Practices through Hip Hop Education and the Kababayan Learning Community at Skyline College present the author of Legions of Boom, Oliver Wang in a unique event open to students and the community. Applications Now Being Accepted for Tuition Free Middle College  
San Bruno, California – June 15, 2015: The Skyline Middle College is now accepting applications for fall semester when it will open its doors to high school students for the first time. The tuition free Middle College is a partnership between the South San Francisco Unified School District and Skyline College allowing students to take both high school and college courses at the same time on the Skyline College campus.

Skyline College Hosts 45th Annual Commencement Ceremony  
San Bruno, California – May 21, 2015: The 45th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Skyline College Gymnasium, at 3300 College Drive, San Bruno, CA 94066, Building 3. A record total of 310 students will participate in the ceremony, the largest commencement ceremony in Skyline College history. A total of 1,374 degrees and certificates will be awarded to 974 students.

Skyline College to Honor Students' Academic Achievements at the 14th Annual Student Recognition and Awards Ceremony  
San Bruno, California – April 15, 2015 – The 14th Annual Student Recognition and Award Ceremony will award scholarships to over 200 students on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Theater, located in Building 1 at 3300 College Drive, San Bruno, CA 94066. A reception for the scholarship recipients and families will be held immediately following the program in the Student and Community Center, Building 6. Skyline College students will be presented with over 250 awards totaling more than $145,000 in scholarship funds.

"Women on Writing: WOW! Voices Now" Conference Open for Registration  
San Bruno, California - February 10, 2015 – Skyline College will host the “Women on Writing: WOW! Voices Now” conference on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will feature readings and a question and answer period with two featured authors: Natalie Baszile, author of the debut novel Queen Sugar, and widely published poet and author Eileen Malone.

Skyline College to Host Strategic Planning Sessions
