The Intercultural Center
Skyline College's Intercultural Center strives to cultivate a space on campus for students, faculty members, and classified professionals to connect with each other meaningfully across differences, reflect on multiple aspects of their identities, explore how oppression manifests in society, and work towards racial and social justice.
Each semester, the Intercultural Center features an engaging speaker series that provides commentary on the current political climate in addition to workshops or film screenings on relevant social justice topics. Organizations on campus are encouraged to reserve the space for their own needs if they host programs that facilitate reflection and action on issues related to equity and cultural exchange.
Vision
The creation and maintenance of safe spaces for restorative self-reflection, broadening critical consciousness, and developing solidarity.
Mission
To celebrate our intersectional identities, challenge oppressive ideologies, and overcome our linked struggles through embracing vulnerability, channeling indignation, and uplifting marginalized communities. In this space, we strive to eliminate white supremacy, heteropatriarchy, and dehumanizing capitalist practices.
