Spring Musical 2026
Skyline College Drama and Music Departments invite you to audition for our 2025 Spring Musical, 9 to 5. This toe-tapping, larger-than-life, Tony-nominated musical is based on the iconic 1980 film and features upbeat, unforgettable music and lyrics by country pop legend Dolly Parton.
About the Musical
Directed by Prof. Chris Reber, 9 to 5 follows three female office workers who unite to change the unfair working conditions created by their sexist male boss. Join us in bringing this big-hearted, energetic, and empowering show to life on the Skyline College Theater stage!

Audition Dates:
Location: Building 1, Room. 1-111- Thursday, October 23 | 5 – 8 p.m.
- Friday, October 24 | 1 – 4 p.m.
- Saturday, October 25 | 1 – 4 p.m.

Location: Building 1, Room 1-111- October 30 & 31 | Time slots will be provided
Important Instructions for Auditions
- Prepare a one-minute contemporary, comedic monologue.
- Prepare a contemporary musical theater selection (up tempo or ballad) or music in a rock musical style. Please do not sing any selections from the Fall musical selection for your audition.
- Please bring your own back up accompaniment recording that can be played from your phone, tablet, or computer.
We are planning for a large and diverse cast. You can expect a professional rehearsal environment where cast members are treated with respect while being encouraged to perform to their optimum potential.
All who audition will be cast in a part and/or the ensemble.

General Information about the Musical Theater classes and Spring 2025 Enrollment
Students participating in the Spring 2026 Musical production must enroll in BOTH MUS 410 (1 unit) and DRAM 208 (2 units).
- MUS. 410.1* - Vocal Ensemble for the Musical Theater Production I
- DRAM 208* - Theatrical Production (Acting Practicum I)
*Students who have previously participated in a Skyline College spring musical and
enrolled in MUS. 410.x would enroll in the next class in the sequence (either 410.2, 410.3, or 410.4). Students
who have previously enrolled in DRAM 208, would enroll in DRAM 209 (Acting Practicum II).
The two classes taken together provide the rehearsal time for the Spring Musical production. Together, these classes are scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Spring 2026 semester from 2 – 5:20 p.m. Class meetings begin Jan. 20 and finish at the end of April.
