About Me

I’m from Mexico and I moved to the Bay Area in 2016. My school journey started in an adult school where I learned English as a second language. Then, I transferred to Skyline to continue improving my language and pursuing an Associate’s degree in Psychology. I am transferring to San Francisco State for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Special Education. I am very passionate about education and helping others to succeed and achieve their dreams is meaningful for me.

When I started at Skyline College, I wish I knew:

The importance of organization and goal setting to achieve my plans with less stress possible and more confidence in myself. Also, I wish I had known more about scholarships and support programs like EOPS and TRiO.

What I enjoy outside of academics:

I like spending time outdoors, walking. I love watching movies and anime; my favorite kind of movies are science fiction and fantasy. Another activity that I enjoy is crochet. I have created many pieces of clothes for babies and for myself, especially sweaters.

About Me

I was born in Colombia and have been living in the Bay Area since 2019. I am currently a chemistry major and hope to transfer to San Jose State University next semester to finish my bachelors. I feel that having a positive mindset allows us to live in the moment and enjoy the little things in life.

About all of the resources that Skyline has to offer students for support whether in academics or personal life. I strongly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and joining some of the great clubs on campus. Networking opens doors to great opportunities and creates friendships outside of the classroom as well.

About Me

I am originally from the Philippines and I moved to the Bay Area back in 2019. I am currently taking Kinesiology as my major and I plan on transferring in Fall 2022. My ideal career as of now is working in the field of Rehabilitation Science.

When I started at Skyline College, I wish I knew:

That there are so many free programs and resources offered to support students beyond academics. The faculty and staff also provide plenty of opportunities to get involved in the campus. They are welcoming and accommodating, especially to ESOL students like myself so I wish I had reached out to them and taken the opportunity back then.
