Pamela Ortega Martinez
Major: Nursing About MeHi, I’m Pamela! I’m a first-generation student who moved here from El Salvador almost seven years ago. I’m currently pursuing Nursing with the goal of becoming a pediatric nurse. I’m a quiet person, but I still enjoy being spontaneous, going on adventures, finding new hobbies, and learning new things. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:I wish I had known how to set limits and that it is normal not to be able to do it all, especially by yourself. Skyline has so many resources available to help students, but many students either don’t take advantage of them or simply don’t know they exist. If I had accepted the help I was offered, my life would have been a lot less stressful. 3 words to describe me:

What I enjoy outside of academics:I love binge-watching sitcoms, especially Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which I have rewatched more times than I can remember. I love watching movies, listening to music, and reading whenever I can. I also enjoy going out with my family and friends or simply spending quality time with them. Programs I'm involved in:

Shirley Lam
Major: Allied Health About Me:Hi! I’m Shirley, and I’m currently pursuing Allied Health. Skyline is my college 2.0. Returning to college has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, allowing me to continue learning, grow through new challenges, and connect with people from different backgrounds and generations. I’m grateful for my experience at Skyline and look forward to giving back to the community that has been an important part of my growth.What I started at Skyline College, I wish I knew…I was fortunate to receive guidance early on from professors, staff, and fellow students. Returning to college after being away for some time was an adjustment, and their willingness to answer questions and share their experiences helped me find my footing and build confidence for the classes ahead. What I enjoy outside of academics:Traveling and volunteering give me opportunities to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. I also enjoy listening to music and spending time in nature. Sky Wun
Major: Business Administration About MeMy name is Khin La Pyae Wun, but I also go by Sky. I was born and raised in Myanmar and came to California as an international student. I'm currently in my second year at Skyline College, pursuing a Business major. I'm passionate about arts, music and photography and I love helping people feel comfortable with me, knowing they can trust me. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:I wish I had known about all the resources available to students on campus. In my first semester, I was overwhelmed with adjusting to change in the new environment and education system. What I enjoy outside of academics:Outside of academics, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with my family and friends, singing, dancing, and painting. Major: Biology About MeHello ! I’m Ei Myat Myat Khit , you can call me Mattie . I moved to California in 2024 Fall from Yangon, Burma. I am working toward transferring to a four-year university to earn a degree in Biology. I’m a good listener , enjoy making people feel comfortable and at ease around me. I enjoy helping others understand technology and solve problems because I believe learning is best when people feel comfortable asking questions. Outside of academics, I'm always looking for opportunities to learn something new and help others do the same.
