Foster Youth Students

If you are/were in foster care or another court ordered out of home placement between your 16th and 18th birthday, you may be eligible for up to $5,000 of additional grant assistance through the Chafee Grant. The Financial Aid Office is here to help you pay for your college education. We are here to help and to connect you with all available resources. We look forward to assisting you through the process and being part of your support system at Skyline College.

Steps to Enrollment:

  1. Complete an Application for Admission to Skyline College
  2. Take Math and English Placement Test 
  3. Complete an in-person or online Orientation
  4. Schedule a Counseling appointment
  5. Register for classes on WebSMART
  6. Apply for Financial Aid - please follow the below "Steps to Applying for Financial Aid"

Please Note:  You will receive an enrollment ticket by email if you provided an e-mail address or via regular mail if you did not.  For more information, please visit the Admissions & Records Office

Steps to Applying for Financial Aid:

  1. Submit a FAFSA:
  2. Submit a Chafee Grant Application:
  3. Obtain copy of Foster Youth Verification Letter from the County where Foster Care Services were received
  4. Contact Jocelyn Vila, Financial Aid Foster Youth Liaison (when emailing, please provide your name, G-Number and telephone number)
